Houston Astros 10, Chicago Cubs 5

GAME #7 (winners’ bracket first round):

The Astros plated 10 runs on 11 hits, six of them doubles, as well as a three-run homer by Jose Cruz that made it 6-0 after three innings. Tony Scott and Phil Garner both went 3-for-4, with Scott scoring four runs and hitting a pair of doubles, while Garner drove in three runs. Nolan Ryan had a few rough innings but struck out 12 in a complete-game win. The Cubs’ Mike Krukow gave up six hits and six runs in the first three innings to take the loss.
