GAME #15 (winners’ bracket second round):

Bob Knepper tossed a shutout for the Astros, scattering three hits and four walks. He stranded Expos in scoring position in four different innings, with only one ever reaching third base. Terry Puhl and Jose Cruz both had three hits for Houston. During a five-run fifth inning, Art Howe had a two-run single and Denny Walling smacked a two-run homer. The Expos’ Steve Rogers lasted only 4 2/3 innings in the loss and gave up six hits, four walks and five earned runs.
