GAME #19 (losers’ bracket):
Mike Hargrove’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh broke a 1-1 tie and sent the Indians on to victory. John Denny gave up three hits, one walk and a run in eight innings for the victory, while Dan Spillner came in with the tying run at the plate in the ninth, and got the final three outs for the save. Cleveland went up 1-0 in the third inning on an RBI double by Andre Thornton. Denny kept the Braves hitless until the sixth inning, when Atlanta collected all three of their hits for the game, including an RBI single by Claudell Washington.
