Rick Monday hit two home runs, Ken Landreaux went 4-for-4, Dusty Baker drove in five runs and Jerry Reuss threw a two-hitter as the Dodgers advanced with ease. Seattle scored its run in the top of the first on a RBI single by Tom Paciorek, but didn’t have another hit after the second inning. Monday’s first home run, a solo shot in the second inning, gave the Dodgers the lead for good at 2-1. Dusty Baker had a two-run single in the third, Landreaux had an RBI single in the fifth, Monday added a two-run blast in the sixth, and Baker had a two-run single in the seventh. Reuss struck out seven and survived five walks, and retired the final 12 Mariner batters.
