GAME #21 (losers’ bracket):
George Hendrick hit a pair of two-run homers and Darrell Porter also had a two-run blast, all in the first three innings, as the Cardinals got all the runs they needed early in the contest. Hendrick ended up going 4-for-5. Garry Templeton added an RBI single in the fourth inning to make it 7-0. Two of the three Angel hits came in the sixth inning as Fred Lynn and Don Baylor hit back-to-back home runs for California’s only scoring. St. Louis’ Lary Sorensen struck out five while giving up three hits and four walks.
