1/14/2016 Pepperdine at Santa Clara

Santa Clara hit a game-winning three with 1.3 seconds in real life, but the Waves took care of business in all three simulations to get a win on the road. All three sims were close and two of the three were pretty close to the actual final score. One third of the way through the WCC season and the Waves are two games ahead of pace in the computer simulations, and even in the cards-and-dice platform.

Real: [L] Santa Clara 62, Pepperdine 60 — 3-3
CB2K: [W] Pepperdine 77, Santa Clara 72 — 3-3
APC: [W] Pepperdine 61, Santa Clara 50 — 5-1
CCB: [W] Pepperdine 69, Santa Clara 64 — 5-1

In the CB2K cards-and-dice game, the Waves took the lead late in the first half and managed to keep in front by a slim margin the entire way.

Both teams shot terribly in the Action! PC computer game, finishing around 35% from the field. Did Santa Clara’s Jared Brownridge ever score as few as five points in a real game that year? SCU’s only lead of the game came at 39-37 with 12 minutes to play, but Pepperdine scored the next eight points. It was 48-46 with five minutes left and the Waves ended the game on a 13-4 run.

Santa Clara got off to a torrid start in the Courtside College Basketball game. Brownridge scored something like 14 points in the first five minutes and the Broncos were up by 10 around the 10-minute mark of the first half. But SCU eventually cooled down, the Waves got it going, taking the lead at halftime and managing to hold on in the second half.

The sims were pretty spot on with the real-life performances of Jett Raines and Lamond Murray Jr., who both scored 14 points. In the sims, Raines had 15, 14 and 13, and Murray had 15, 13 and 13.
