Eight men remain in the tournament. The top four seeds are all still competing in the winners’ bracket, while both Road Warriors highlight the four wrestlers still alive in the losers’ bracket. #9 Hawk and #11 Animal are the two lowest-ranked wrestlers still competing.

Winners’ Bracket Third Round
(1) Ric Flair vs. (9) Hawk: On paper, it was a bit of a mismatch, but Hawk did everything in his power to win this one — power being the key word, as Hawk’s power moves did a whole lot of damage over the course of the match. Flair’s big advantage was nearly entirely wiped out by the end of the match, but in the end, Hawk didn’t have anything left and went down for the count after a running knee to the back of his head. Flair def. Hawk by pinfall at 64:00.
(4) Magnum T.A. vs. (5) Ron Garvin: On paper, it should have been a very even match, but instead it was completely dominated by Magnum T.A. He came out a house on hire, landing punch after punch, and had two attacks for every one of Garvin’s over the course of a short match. Garvin probably should have been able to kick out after a belly-to-belly suplex, but stayed down for the count. Magnum T.A. def. Garvin by pinfall at 11:00.
(2) Dusty Rhodes vs. (10) Ricky Morton: Over and over, Morton looked for ways to finish this match and post an upset. He went for a variety of quick pins on eight occasions, and tried for submission moves three times. But Rhodes kept soldiering on, accumulating damage and wearing Morton out before finishing him off with his second Bionic Elbow. Rhodes def. Morton by pinfall at 45:00.
(3) Nikita Koloff vs. (6) Barry Windham: Momentum swung back and forth. Koloff came out swinging early. Windham had a long stretch where he was in control. Koloff regained the advantage, but then they went back and forth for a spell. Windham hit his finisher a couple of times but couldn’t end it. Koloff’s second Russian Sickle gave him the win. Koloff def. Windham by pinfall at 32:00.
Losers’ Bracket Third Round
(7) Arn Anderson vs. (9) Hawk: Anderson worked methodically, while Hawk hit a lot of power moves. This one was close throughout. But when action moved to the outside of the ring, the two pounded on each other until both were dazed. On the verge of a double count-out, both tried to make it back into the ring. Hawk was faster, and Anderson failed to make it back in before the referee got to 10. Hawk def. Anderson by disqualification at 25:00.
(5) Ron Garvin vs. (11) Animal: A shocking match, both in terms of its length and its result. In the first few minutes of action, both men traded big blows. Animal had a surprise roll-up attempt, and somehow kept Garvin’s back on the mat for the three count. Animal def. Garvin by pinfall at 5:00.
(8) Tully Blanchard vs. (10) Ricky Morton: Blanchard and Morton went to war, battling for an hour with each taking their best shot. Blanchard cheated a couple of times. Morton locked in a couple of submission holds. Blanchard’s second Slingshot Suplex finally ended it. Blanchard def. Morton by pinfall at 61:00.
(6) Barry Windham vs. (14) Ole Anderson: Windham had the advantage coming in and maintained it in a short match, and beat Anderson with the Flying Lariat. Windham def. Anderson by pinfall at 18:00.
