Two tennis tournaments, two wins for the Williams sisters. Venus prevailed in Sydney, as did Andre Agassi on the men’s side. In the men’s final, Stefan Edberg won the first set and led 5-4 in the second, but Agassi won three straight games, then dominated the final set. Williams knocked out top seed Steffi Graf in the quarterfinals, one of three upsets in that round. She blitzed Martina Hingis in the final.
