WAF Cards 1-5

The Wrestling America Federation got underway with the first five cards of the campaign. Chris Babylon and Diego Despiadado put on an interesting trilogy, with Babylon winning the finale in a steel cage after Despiadado was injured. Wrestlers to watch at this point include Black Noise, The Big Time and Triple G among the faces, and Rogan, Me The VP and the Domino Effect among the heels.

CARD #1

Kuracho vs. I Am That Guy: Kuracho hit a big move early, putting I Am That Guy into a torture rack. I Am That Guy’s valet started berating the referee, and that led to a quick and controversial disqualification. The valet continued to unload on the referee and Kuracho. She challenged Kuracho to a grudge rematch challenge, which was accepted. But then, Diego Despiadado jumped into the ring and a two-on-one beatdown of I Am That Guy. He’s injured and will be out of action for three weeks. Kuracho wins by DQ.

Country Conard vs. Blast Bingaman: The crowd gave Blast Bingaman a big ovation as he came to the ring. The combatants took turns hitting the other with various moves. But, late in the match, Country Conard earned a reversal and hit a big knee lift, and a dazed Bingaman couldn’t kick out. Conard wins by pinfall.

Triple G vs. Kyler Bass: Pre-match, Bass took the mic and gave an impassioned speech on behalf of himself and his victorious ally, Country Conard. And Bass came out on fire, taking a big advantage early and nearly putting Triple G down for a three-count. But the favorite rallied, and on his second pin attempt, put Kyler Bass down for good. Triple G wins by pinfall.

Chris Babylon vs. Diego Despiadado: After an early disadvantage, Babylon rallied and had a couple of pinfall attempts and used his submission finisher, the Rivers of Babylon. But Despiadado kept kicking out or slipping free. Finally, on the third pin attempt following a knee to the face, Babylon earned the win. Postmatch, Despiadado got in Babylon’s face and issued a challenge for a grudge rematch. Babylon wins by pinfall.

The Biz vs. King Ned: The Biz handled King Ned relatively easily, as a submission move hurt Ned, and an underhook powerbomb finished him off. The Biz wins by pinfall.

CARD #2

Rogan vs. John Kentt: Kentt got in some early shots, but Rogan forced Kentt to submit. Rogan wins by submission.

Me the VP vs. Nuke Newsome: The referee was oblivious as Me the VP kept bending and breaking the rules, pulling one illegal move after another. Newsome nearly rallied, but Me the VP prevailed. Blast Bingaman came out and yelled at the referee, then challenged Me the VP to a future match. Me the VP wins by pinfall.

Black Noise vs. The Domino Effect: Black Noise dominated and the Domino Effect barely got any offense in. Twice Black Noise put the ankle lock on, with the second one ending the match. The Domino Effect’s ally, the Missing Piece, attacked Black Noise as they crossed paths. Black Noise wins by submission.

Triple G vs. The Missing Piece: Triple G hit a number of high-powered moves and won this one easily. The Missing Piece wasn’t happy about it and started jawing with Triple G after the match. Triple G wins by pinfall.

Chris Babylon vs. Diego Despiadado (grudge rematch): It was all Babylon early. And then, he grabbed a kendo stick and smashed Despiadado with it. But that only seemed to aliven the underdog. He came back with a fury, hitting move after move and eventually winning after putting Babylon into a body scissor lock. Despiadado wins by submission.

CARD #3

The Big Time vs. Kyler Bass: The two massive competitors went at it, but The Big Time dominated and squashed Bass quickly, finishing him off with a neck breaker. The Big Time wins by pinfall.

Rogan vs. The Biz: Right off the bat, Rogan poked The Biz in the eye, and it was serious enough that The Biz could not continue. Post-match, an enraged Biz challenged Rogan to a hard core grudge rematch. No contest.

Me the VP vs. Blast Bingaman: Pre-match, Me the VP began taunting Bingaman and the fans in attendance. Bingaman responded by hitting Me the VP with a folding chair! That gave Bingaman the edge, and he took control of the match, repeatedly hitting offensive moves. A top rope splash cemented the major upset. Post-match, Bingaman laid into Me the VP on the mic as an angry VP walked back to the locker room. Bingaman wins by pinfall.

Black Noise vs. The Missing Piece: Black Noise took the microphone and laid into the Domino Effect and the Missing Piece. The referee had to hold back an angry Domino Effect. Rob Van Zander, proving backup for Black Noise, got involved and sucker punched the Missing Piece. Once the match finally began, the Missing Piece got a few shots in, but eventually tapped out to the ankle lock. Van Zander got on the microphone and made fun of the opposing duo. Black Noise wins by submission.

Chris Babylon vs. Diego Despiadado (cage match): The rubber match between Babylon and Despiadado was decided in a steel cage. A cocky Despiadado riled up Babylon before the start of the match. But early on, a big boot by Babylon legitimately hurt Despiadado. While he was down and incapacitated, Babylon had no difficulty escaping the cage for the win. The commissioner comes out and excoriates both wrestlers for failing to deliver a compelling main event. This rivalry isn’t over, but Despiadado will be out for three weeks with a concussion. Babylon wins by escaping the cage.

CARD #4

The Legend vs. Ace Magnett: This one was over almost before it even started, as Magnett didn’t even get one offensive move in. The Legend hammered away at Magnett, and after a gruesome powerbomb, Magnett didn’t get up. Magnett’s ally, King Ned, got in the Legend’s face and challenged him to a match. The Legend wins by pinfall.

Derrin Rezor vs. Super Stinger: Stinger looked good early, but Rezor gained the advantage, then used some underhanded means to help finish off Stinger, ending it after a corner foot choke. Rezor continued to beat down Stinger after the match. An injured Stinger is out for five weeks. Derrin Rezor wins by pinfall.

John Kentt vs. Express Delivery Jones: An even match went the distance, but Kentt pulled away at the end and won it with a shoulder tackle. John Kentt wins by pinfall.

Rogan vs. The Biz (grudge rematch): The Biz had Rogan on the ropes, but Rogan kicked out the first pinfall attempt. A reversal and a powerslam gave Rogan the edge, and the win. Rogan wins by pinfall.

Black Noise and Rob Van Zander vs. the Missing Piece and the Domino Effect: The Domino Effect began taunting the fans at ringside, and had his back turned when the opening bell rang. Black Noise and Van Zander worked perfectly as teammates, flawlessly tagging in and out and keeping the Domino Effect down. The Missing Piece never even got into the match, as Black Noise finished off the Domino Effect with a sit-out powerbomb. But the Missing Piece got involved afterward, hitting Black Noise from behind with a cheap shot, injuring him for four weeks. Black Noise and Rob Van Zander win by pinfall.

CARD #5

Country Conard vs. Express Delivery Jones: A sneak attack by I Am That Guy put Country Conard down before the match began. Kyler Bass came out in support of his ally — and took his place in the match. Kyler Bass vs. Express Delivery Jones: Jones had the better of things for a while, but Bass hit Jones with his tackle box when the referee wasn’t looking, and then Conard recovered enough to get involved and take out Jones. Kyler Bass wins by pinfall.

Rob Van Zander vs. the Missing Piece: The Missing Piece took advantage with a couple of dirty tactics. But Black Noise came out to ringside to assist Van Zander. His support helped turn things around, and when the Missing Piece went out of the ring, Black Noise threw him over the barrier and into the stands. The Missing Piece couldn’t make it back into the ring to beat the 10 count. Rob Van Zander wins by countout.

The Legend vs. King Ned: The Legend dominated early, King Ned rallied late, but it wasn’t enough as The Legend finished it off with a double nerve hold. The Legend wins by submission.

Kuracho vs. I Am That Guy (grudge rematch): A huge upset, as I Am That Guy was victorious in a table match. Kuracho got some shots in early, I Am That Guy rallied to take control. He set up the table and put Kuracho through it for the win. I Am That Guy wins the table match.

Me the VP and Rogan vs. Blast Bingaman and Nuke Newsome: Bingaman and Newsome looked good early, but the favorites were too good. Me the VP pinned Newsome after a flying head scissors. Me the VP and Rogan win by pinfall.
