Game #2: Philadelphia 3, Chicago 1

The Cubs took a 1-0 lead on Frank Chance’s RBI single in the fourth, but that would be it. The Athletics tied it in the fifth on Cy Morgan’s RBI double. Philadelphia broke the tie in the eighth with a two-out rally. After a walk and a hit, Danny Murphy came through with a single that scored one run, and an error in the outfield plated another. Morgan gave up just three hits and retired the final eight Cub batters.
