Game #4: Philadelphia 3, Boston 0 (11 inn.)

Chief Bender and Bill James put on the best pitching duel to date, as the two hurlers took shutouts into the 11th inning. Bender went 11 innings and gave up just four hits and three walks while striking out 10. The Athletics finally got to James in the bottom of the 11th. He had only given up five hits to that point but Eddie Collins and Claud Derrick singled and after an out, Rube Oldring slugged a walk-off three-run homer.
