Pepp Golf: Round 3 at Riviera

Sahith Theegala cruised to victory at Riviera Country Club as the Waves’ wrapped up their second History Maker Golf simulation of the season. He shot a 15-under 198 to win by six strokes.

Derek Hitchner finished second and RJ Manke, who won the first tournament at Sherwood, took third place.

Theegala entered the final round with a two-shot lead over William Mouw but the outcome was decided quickly when Theegala birdied the first hole and Mouw bogeyed the first two. Theegala’s lead grew to six at the turn and he had a final round 4-under 67.

  • Theegala was practically flawless, recording only three bogeys for the tournament, one in each round. He had five birdies in the final round and a tournament-best 18 overall.
  • Theegala managed the middle of the front nine better than anyone else. Holes 4-7 gave up only one birdie, to Theegala on the par-3 sixth. Only three other golfers survived that stretch without a bogey.
  • Highsmith had a final-round 7-under 64, which moved him from 10th place to fifth place. He had seven of his eight birdies on the back nine, including five straight to end the tournament.
  • Frederick Wedel had the biggest jump, as a 3-under 68 took him from 15th place to eighth.
  • Only six golfers had below-par final rounds.
