The fourth tournament of the Waves’ History Maker Golf tour takes them to Pasatiempo Golf Course, located in Santa Cruz, Calif. It’s home to the Western Intercollegiate, one of the Waves’ regular events where they’ve had a great deal of recent success.
Joey Vrzich and Austin Murphy shot 5-under 65s to get things started, taking two-shot leads over Sahith Theegala and Roy Cootes. Nine golfers shot under par in the first round.

- Vrzich had seven birdies and two bogeys, while Murphy recorded six birdies and just one bogey. Murphy ran off four straight birdies from 12-15, while Vrzich had three straight from 14-16. Murphy was at even-par after 11, but birdied five of the final seven holes.
- Three golfers overcame a double bogey on the first or second hole to end up shooting 1-under 69s: Highsmith, Wedel and Anderson.
- Three Waves had eagles: Mac Arthur and Feagler on the par-5 ninth hole, and Highsmith on the par-5 sixth hole.
- Mac Arthur had the lead at the turn at 3-under, but then went 4-over on the back nine.
