Argentina II needed at least a two-goal win, and pulled off a 4-2 victory. Both teams finished level with six points and a +3 goal differential. Argentina II’s 11 goals scored to British Isles’ nine was the tiebreaker. Germany I was eliminated after scoring just three goals while conceding 11.
Lionel Messi scored five goals to lead Argentina II, which included a hat trick against Germany I. John Charles scored one goal in each game for British Isles. David Villa netted three goals for Spain.
