The third round at Pasatiempo Golf Course had high drama and came down to the 18th hole, where Clay Feagler chipped in for birdie to claim the crown. In the first four tournaments in this History Maker Golf simulation, four different Waves have come in first place.
Sahith Theegala began the final round with a one-shot lead over William Mouw and was three better than Feagler. Theegala kept hold of the lead on the front nine, but after a couple of bogeys, Feagler went ahead by two strokes after 11. Then, Mouw got hot and took a one-shot lead after 14 holes.
Feagler briefly tied Mouw on 15 with a birdie, but Mouw birdied 16 to go back up by one. Both players had par on 17, while Theegala had a birdie to pull him even with Feagler.
On the par-3 18th, Theegala could only record par. Feagler sent his first shot just off the green, but he chipped in to pull even with Mouw. Mouw’s first shot went in the sand, and he was left with a difficult putt for par, which he needed to make to force a playoff. But he missed the putt, handing the title to Feagler.
