GTOP S2W2: 1922 Browns vs. 1920 Indians

The 1920 Cleveland Indians look like a team to be reckoned with, as they won three of four games for the second straight week to improve to 6-2. The 1922 St. Louis Browns fell to 3-5. Doc Johnston batted .533 (8-for-15) to lead the Tribe. Baby Doll Jacobson hit .500 (7-for-14) and drove in six runs to lead the Browns.

Game #1: Cleveland 2, St. Louis 1 (11 inn.)

All three runs were scored on sacrifice flies. Both teams scored once in the third: St. Louis on an Urban Shocker sacrifice fly, and Cleveland on the same by Charlie Jamieson. Shocker and Jim Bagby were masterful, and it stayed 1-1 until the bottom of the 11th. Cleveland pinch-hitter Joe Evans led off with a triple, and Jamieson followed with his second sacrifice fly of the contest, this one ending it.
