Game #3: Pittsburgh 4, St. Louis 3 (10 inn.)
St. Louis looked like it might break the slide when Hank Severeid led off the top of the 10th with a triple and then scored on pinch-hitter Pat Collins’ sacrifice fly. But in the bottom of the 10th, the first two Pirate hitters reached base. After two outs, Paul Waner came to the plate with runners on second and third. His walk-off base hit scored both runners for the comeback win.
