The 1925 Washington Senators and the 1920 Cleveland Indians entered the week as two of the top teams in the league, but it’s the Indians that are standing tall after a four-game sweep. Cleveland (12-4) is now tied atop the league standings (based on winning percentage) with the 1927 New York Yankees — and those two teams will meet in week six.
Tris Speaker went 8-for-18 (.444) at the plate and drove in six runs to lead the Indians, who hit .325 as a team. Sam Rice batted 7-for-19 (.368) to lead the Senators (9-11).
