Pepp Golf: Round 2 at Conway Farms

It’s a three-man race heading into the final round at Conway Farms Golf Club. Joe Highsmith, looking for his first victory of the season, has a two-shot lead over William Mouw and a four-shot advantage over Joshua McCarthy.

Highsmith and Mouw both shot 6-under 65s and were joined by Clay Feagler for the day’s top score.

  • Both Highsmith and Mouw posted seven birdies and one bogey en route to their 65s. Both players had a run of three straight birdies on 7-8-9.
  • Feagler, who won the last tournament, had a total of eight birdies in his 65, including five of the last seven holes. After a tough first round, he climbed from a tie for 10th into fourth, seven shots back of Highsmith.
  • Theegala went 35 holes without a bogey before finally recording one on 18. His 2-under round put him into fifth.
  • McManus had the biggest recovery of the day. He was 4-over at the turn after four bogeys. He then had five birdies and was 5-under on the back nine.
  • Despite being tied for 14th, no one has been more consistent than Murphy. He had 17 pars for the second straight round (but has yet to post a birdie).
