The biggest game of the season so far wasn’t close, as first-place and defending champion USC routed second-place Oregon State. The Trojans now lead the league by two games. The most surprising news out of week eight might be Cal State Fullerton finally winning a game after posting a comeback victory over Arizona State. ASU’s Barry Bonds hit a three-run homer in the third inning to make it 3-0 and it looked like the Titans were on their way to their eighth straight defeat. They scored four more times in the eighth, which included a two-run homer by Tim Wallach.
