Both the Beavers’ Cole Gillespie and the Titans’ Phil Nevin hit a pair of home runs, but OSU added three additional blasts in the rout. Solo homers by Gillespie gave the Beavers their first two runs. OSU took the lead on the sixth without the long ball, as Jacoby Ellsbury and Gillespie had RBI doubles, followed by a run-scoring single by Adley Rutschman. In the eighth, the Beavers hit three more homers, solo shots by Steve Lyons and Ellsbury and a two-run bomb from Michael Conforto.

UCLA 2, California 1

The Golden Bears got on the board first on Mark Canha’s RBI double in the second inning. But Cal would only advance one more runner as far as second base the rest of the game, and UCLA pitchers retired the final 11 hitters in the contest. The Bruins scored twice in the fourth inning on four hits, with an RBI double from Dave Roberts and an RBI single from Todd Zeile, and that turned out to be enough.
