GTOP S3W4: 1933 Senators vs. 1941 Dodgers

Both the 1933 Washington Senators and the 1941 Brooklyn Dodgers entered their week 4 matchup with .500 records, and that was still true when it was all said and done. The Senators (8-8) had a pair of one-run victories, while the Dodgers (6-6) got shutouts from Whit Wyatt and Curt Davis as they split the four games.

Ossie Bluege hit .385 (5-for-13) to lead the Senators. Pete Reiser and Mickey Owen both batted .400 (6-for-15) for the Dodgers. Reiser had four extra-base hits including three triples.

Game #1: Washington 5, Brooklyn 4

Dolph Camilli gave the Dodgers a 4-3 lead with a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth. But the Senators’ Joe Kuhel came through with an RBI double to tie it in the top of the seventh. Heinie Manush led off the top of the ninth with a home run for what turned out to be the game-winner for Washington.
