MLB College S2 Gameday #15

USC has clinched at least a share of its second straight championship. The Trojans’ third straight win puts them up by three with three games to play. Long Beach State and Oregon State both won again, keeping their slim hopes alive. The Trojans will try to win it outright by beating their rival, UCLA, though they’ll be up against the hottest team in the league. The Bruins have won five in a row and put up 14 runs against Cal State Fullerton this week.

Long Beach State 7, Stanford 4

The Cardinal took a 3-1 lead thanks to Bob Boone’s two-run single in the fourth and Nico Hoerner’s RBI triple in the fifth. The 49ers loaded the bases in the sixth inning and Terrmel Sledge cleared them with a double, and he then scored on an error to make it 5-3. Stanford closed within a run but Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run home run in the ninth to help put the game away.
