Following 10 regular-season events, the Pepperdine Golf Tour came to an end with the match-play Tour Championship, held at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. After upsets galore, the winner was the #4 seed, Joshua McCarthy.
The regular-season champion and #1 seed, Joe Highsmith, was ousted in the quarterfinals, as was #3 seed Clay Feagler. #2 seed Sahith Theegala seemed to be the favorite, but he was beaten in the semifinals.
McCarthy beat the #5, #9 and #6 seeds, all by 3&2 scores, to win the title. In the finale against RJ Manke, McCarthy went up by three after five holes, and Manke didn’t win a hole until 15. McCarthy also never trailed in his semifinal victory over Frederick Wedel.
