Kevin Huerter sank five three-pointers and scored 24 points as the Sacramento Kings crushed the Los Angeles Clippers, 127-86, at home in the second game of the season replay.
This was a two-point loss in real life. The Kings are now 2-0 in the replay after actually starting 2022-23 with an 0-2 mark.
Harrison Barnes and De’Aaron Fox both scored 21 points. Domantas Sabonis had 17 points and 15 rebounds. The Kings shot 54.9% from the field and held the Clippers to 42.5% shooting, and committed only eight turnovers while forcing 15.
The Kings scored 25 points in their worst quarter, and the Clippers only scored more than 23 once.
Los Angeles was led by Paul George’s 26 points and Norman Powell’s 22 points.

Powell scored the first basket of the game and that turned out to be the Clippers’ only lead of the contest as the Kings scored the next seven points. Sacramento also had runs of 7-1, 8-0 and 10-0 in the first quarter and took a 37-23 lead after 12 minutes.
Huerter and Barnes both scored five points in a 14-0 run that pushed the Kings lead to 25 points at 51-26 with eight minutes to go in the second quarter. A 9-0 run toward the end of the period made it 68-40, and it was 73-42 at halftime.
It only got worse from there for the Clippers, as they managed just 14 points in the third quarter. A 9-0 Sacramento run made it a 38-point lead at 84-46, and later a three-pointer by Malik Monk made it 93-51 with two minutes to go. Monk scored the final five points of the period as the Kings built a 98-56 lead.
Davion Mitchell put the Kings over the century mark on a three-pointer with 10 minutes to go in the contest, making it 101-62. The biggest lead of the game was 45 points, which came in the final two minutes after a Barnes three-pointer.
