After a high-scoring first half, the Sacramento Kings turned up the intensity on defense to hold down the Brooklyn Nets in a 123-104 home victory.
The Nets led 66-65 at halftime but the Kings outscored them 58-38 in the second half. Sacramento improved to 8-5 in the replay (one game better than real life).
De’Aaron Fox had 27 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while Domantas Sabonis had 21 points and seven assists.
Kevin Durant scored 22 points but missed most of the third quarter after picking up his fifth foul, which helped the Kings begin to pull away. Cam Thomas scored 18 points off the bench.

Brooklyn jumped out an early 12-4 lead after a Royce O’Neale three-pointer. The Kings came back and took their first lead at 20-19 after a Fox three-pointer. Sacramento led 31-28 after the first quarter.
A 10-2 Brooklyn run, capped off by four straight points by Thomas, gave Brooklyn a 55-48 lead with less than five minutes to go in the second quarter. A three-point play by Thomas made it an eight-point lead at 58-50. The Kings ended the half on a 7-0 run, five points coming from Sabonis, to go into halftime with just a one-point deficit at 66-65.
The Kings scored the first basket of the second half and never trailed again. It was tied at 72 when the Kings went on an 8-0 run to go up 80-72 with less than six minutes to play in the third quarter. It was 88-83 heading into the final period.
The Kings opened the fourth quarter on a 10-0 run, with six straight points by Harrison Barnes, to go up 98-83. Sacramento’s lead stayed in double-digits the rest of the way. Their biggest lead of the game was the final margin of 19 points.
