After 24 games, the Sacramento Kings are behind their 48-win pace for the first time, as they lost on the road to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 119-113.
The Kings fell to 13-11 in the replay. They won this game in real life to improve to 14-10.
Domantas Sabonis scored a season-high 32 points on 11-for-15 shooting and pulled down nine rebounds. Harrison Barnes added 22 points. The Kings were without De’Aaron Fox for this one.
Cleveland was also missing a star as Donovan Mitchell didn’t play. Darius Garland and Evan Mobley made up for it as they both scored 33 points. The Cavaliers outshot the Kings 55.6% to 51.9%.
The Kings beat the Cavaliers in both their meetings in 2022-23, but here in the replay they lost both.

The Kings led for the first six minutes of the game. Their biggest lead was five points at 10-5. Cleveland led for most of the rest of the quarter and it was 28-25 at the break.
The Cavaliers’ lead grew to 10 points at 39-29, then 13 at 55-42 after Mobley scored twice in a row. It was 59-51 at halftime.
Cleveland led by 10 at 75-65, but Sabonis scored six straight points to get it down to four at 75-71 with 4 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter. Keegan Murray hit a basket at the buzzer to tie the game at 86 after three quarters.
Murray started the fourth quarter with a three-pointer, giving the Kings their first lead since 19-17 in the first quarter. It didn’t last long, as Mobley scored twice to put Cleveland in front 92-91, and they never trailed again. Cleveland pushed the lead to seven points five times, but Sacramento cut the gap to two at 115-113 with under a minute to go after a Davion Mitchell jumper. But Mobley, who scored 16 fourth-quarter points, scored again to push the lead back to four at 117-113. After the Kings missed a shot, Mobley made two free throws to ice the game.
