12/13/22: Sacramento 124, Philadelphia 107

The Sacramento Kings picked up their second big road win a row, knocking off the Philadelphia 76ers 124-107.

De’Aaron Fox returned from a two-game absence to score a team-high 25 points. He was one of six Kings to score in double-figures. Sacramento shot 59.0% from the field and made half of its three-pointers, connecting on 13.

Joel Embiid was unstoppable when he was on the court, scoring a game-high 39 points. But he was limited to 27 minutes due to foul trouble and sat out much of the third quarter while the Kings built a significant lead. James Harden had 24 points for the 76ers.

The Kings improved to 15-11 and moved back to one game ahead of pace.

A low-scoring first quarter had five lead changes and four ties, and the Kings went into the break with a 26-21 lead after Trey Lyles hit a three-pointer.

The score remained close in the second quarter, and there were six more lead changes and seven ties in the first 6+ minutes of the quarter. The Kings grabbed the lead at that point and led by as many as six before taking a 56-54 halftime lead.

There was two more lead changes early in the third quarter, but then the Kings took the lead for good and began to pull away. Fox scored eight straight points, including two three-pointers, to give Sacramento its first double-digit lead at 69-59. A Philadelphia basket ended that run, but the Kings immediately scored nine more points a row to take a 17-point lead at 78-61. Sacramento kept that double-figure lead and after outscoring Philadelphia 40-30 in the quarter, it was 96-84 heading into the final period.

The 76ers scored the first three points of the fourth quarter to get the deficit back to single-digits, but that was the only time that happened in the final 12 minutes. Davion Mitchell had five points in a 10-0 run that made it 106-87. Sacramento’s biggest lead of the game was 21 at 113-92 after a Domantas Sabonis basket.
