The Sacramento Kings led midway through the fourth quarter, but let it slip away in a 113-108 road loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
De’Aaron Fox didn’t shoot well, but he scored a game-high 34 points. Domantas Sabonis had 19 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Trey Lyles hit four three-pointers and scored 16 points.
Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with 23 points. San Antonio outshot Sacramento, 51.1% to 44.7%. The Kings are 30-20 at the 50-game mark.

The Kings led for most of the first half, though by no more than six points, which came at 24-18 in the first quarter and 37-31 in the second. Sacramento led 53-52 at halftime.
After the Kings scored the first basket of the second half, things fell apart for a while. The Spurs scored 14 straight points to go up by 11 at 66-55. Later, Stanley Johnson scored twice in a row to make it a 14-point lead at 81-67. But, the Kings fought back, putting together runs of 10 points and six points, and the Spurs led by just one at 84-83 at the end of the third quarter.
Fox made a lay-up and a three-pointer to put the Kings up 100-93 with under seven minutes to play. That was the biggest lead of the game for the Kings. But they immediately hit another rough stretch at the worst time. San Antonio went on a 15-3 run to take a 108-103 lead with under three minutes to play. The Kings wouldn’t make a field goal in the final 4+ minutes.
