The Sacramento Kings lost a winnable home game against the New Orleans Pelicans after the Pels dominated the second half in a 115-99 loss.
The Kings (38-26) led by 13 early in the second half, but scored a total of just 44 points after halftime.
Domantas Sabonis had team highs of 27 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Playing without De’Aaron Fox, Davion Mitchell did his best to fill in with a season-high 18 points. Harrison Barnes was emblematic of the Kings’ collapse, as he scored 19 points in the first half and zero in the second half.
Seven of the nine New Orleans players scored in double-figures, led by Brandon Ingram’s 29 (27 of which came in the second half) and C.J. McCollum’s 21.

The game was tied 25-25 at the end of the first quarter and it was a very evenly played first 12 minutes as both teams made 10 of 21 shots, three of eight three-pointers and a pair of free throws.
The Kings had the better of play in the second quarter. Barnes had eight points in a 12-0 run that put Sacramento ahead 48-42. The Kings led 56-50 at halftime.
Sacramento scored the first seven points of the third quarter to take its biggest lead of the game of 13 points at 63-50. It was still a nine-point lead at 72-63 midway through the quarter. It all fell apart from there. New Orleans went on an 18-6 run to finish the third quarter and took an 81-76 lead.
Ingram scored the Pelicans’ first nine points of the fourth quarter as they increased their lead to 90-78 with under eight minutes to play, and it was pretty much over from there. New Orleans’ biggest lead was 17 points at 105-88.
