The fifth iteration of Great Teams of the Past will feature squads from 1961 to 1969. The 1961 New York Yankees are going for a three-peat after their 1937 and 1953 counterparts won the last two seasons.
Like season 4, it will be an eight-team, 32-game league. After a week one jamboree where teams will play a single game against four different teams, then they’ll settle in and play four-game series for the next seven weeks.
Like previous seasons, teams utilize a four-man starting rotation (the four pitchers will be ordered randomly for each series). Starting lineups remain constant, unless an injury knocks a player out for a limited number of games.
I moved from playing APBA basic to a basic-master hybrid early in season 4, and that will continue in season 5.
