May 12 (5-4 loss): The Giants led 3-1 after two innings and took a 4-2 lead into the ninth. Mike Yastrzemski’s fifth home run of the season came in the second inning and his two-run shot made it 3-1. The Giants made it a two-run lead again in the eighth thanks to an Arizona error. In the top of the ninth, Camilo Doval couldn’t close it out. The first two Arizona batters reached base. After the first out, Geraldo Perdomo had a two-run double to tie it. Corbin Carroll, who had already homered and tripled, hit his second triple in three innings to put the Diamondbacks in front. The Giants went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the ninth.

May 13 (6-5 loss, 10 inn.): In the top of the first, Corbin Carroll tripled for his third straight at-bat, driving in a run to make it 1-0. The Giants tied it in the bottom of the first on Jung Hoo Lee’s RBI double. Heliot Ramos had an RBI double in the fifth. The Giants trailed 4-2 going to the bottom of the eighth but Wilmer Flores led off with a solo homer (his sixth), and Christian Koss later drove in a run with a two-out single. The game went to extra innings. In the top of the 10th, the Diamondbacks went ahead with back-to-back two-out RBI doubles by Randal Grichuk and Eugenio Suarez. The Giants could only get one back in the bottom of the 10th on LaMonte Wade’s sacrifice fly.

May 14 (6-3 loss): Heliot Ramos gave the Giants a 1-0 lead when he led off the bottom of the first with his fifth home run of the season. But the Diamondbacks scored twice in the second and twice in the third to take a 4-1 advantage. The Giants got back within a run in the sixth on a two-run homer by Jung Hoo Lee, his second of the season. Arizona restored the lead to three runs at 6-3 on Jose Herrera’s two-run single in the seventh, and the Giants went down quietly in the final innings.
