The San Francisco Giants bounced back from being swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks to take two of three from the Athletics. The winning side scored in double-figures in all three games.
Matt Chapman went 6-for-12 (.500) with four home runs and 11 RBI in the three games. He now has a team-high 14 home runs after 47 games. Willy Adames batted 6-for-11 (.545) and hit his 10th home run. Logan Webb and Landen Roupp had excellent pitching performances.

May 16 (10-1 win): Logan Webb was fantastic again and had a shutout going until there were two outs in the ninth. Brent Rooker homered for the A’s to end the shutout bid. However, Webb improved to 5-3 and lowered his ERA to 1.69 while pitching the Giants’ first complete game of the season. San Francisco scored in six straight innings beginning in the second inning. Matt Chapman hit a three-run homer in the third and a solo shot in the sixth, while Heliot Ramos had a two-run homer in the seventh, his sixth.

May 17 (11-3 win): Landen Roupp had another great start, tossing seven shutout innings to improve to 4-3. Matt Chapman drove in five runs with a two-run double in the third and a three-run homer in the sixth. Willy Adames drove in three runs, including a two-run homer in the eighth, his 10th of the season. The A’s once again broke up a shutout bid with a late homer, as Nick Kurtz hit a two-run homer in the eighth. Jacob Wilson followed that with a home run of his own.
