May 26 (9-1 win): Hayden Birdsong had an excellent start, giving up two hits and one run in five innings, evening his record at 2-2. Three relievers then threw four hitless innings. Willy Adames, Tyler Fitzgerald and Luis Matos all homered in the rout. Detroit’s only run came when Kerry Carpenter led off the bottom of the first with a home run.

May 27 (6-4 win): The Tigers took a 4-0 lead on Logan Webb after Spencer Torkelson’s two-run homer in the fourth inning. The Giants finally got on the board in the fifth when Tyler Fitzgerald and Heliot Ramos executed a double-steal. San Francisco then hit five solo homers over the next three innings to earn the comeback win: Fitzgerald in the fourth, Ramos, Matt Chapman and Willy Adames in the seventh and Mike Yastrzemski in the eighth. Webb improved to 6-3 with the victory and Camilo Doval notched his sixth save.

May 28 (4-3 loss, 14 inn.): The Giants blew a chance to sweep the series. They took a 3-0 lead in the third inning after Willy Adames’ two-run homer. They wouldn’t score again despite having a total of eight hits and 12 walks, while leaving 18 runners on base. The Tigers got homers from Wenceel Perez and Jake Rogers to help tie it. Despite having five opportunities to bring the ghost runner home in extra innings, the Giants couldn’t find a timely hit. In the bottom of the 14th, Riley Greene provided the game-winning hit.
