After a bad April with a 14-17 record, the 2025 San Francisco Giants bounced back with a great May in which they went 17-10, bringing their overall record to 31-27. That’s just one game back of their actual 32-26 record at this point, and four games better than the Giants’ eventual .500 record.
The Giants won seven of their eight full series played in May, with a three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins, a 3-1 series against the Colorado Rockies and five other series in which they took two of three. The only hiccup was a three-game sweep at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Giants’ team hitting statistics are almost spot on after 58 games. It helped that they hit .250 and averaged 5.4 runs during May to overcome their bad start. The pitching is still quite a lot better than the real-life numbers after a good April and an even better May.
Some individual numbers are going to be quite interesting to keep an eye on. Matt Chapman hit 21 home runs in 2025, but he’s already at 17 and is on pace for 38. Willy Adames hit 30 last season and is at 13, which puts him on a pace for 36. Logan Webb and Robbie Ray are both 6-3 (Webb has a 2.08 ERA) and Landen Roupp is right behind at 5-3.
Four more games were played on my YouTube channel.

I like to track the starting pitcher quality and how it affects results. I’m the using the master pitcher ratings in this project. With starting pitchers going fewer innings in 2025, this should have less effect than my earlier replays, but I still thought it might be interesting to see if there are any trends.
