Yet again, the San Francisco Giants won two of three games, this time on the road against the Miami Marlins. That’s now five straight series where San Francisco has gone 2-1. The Giants are five games above .500 at 32-27.
Patrick Bailey was the only Giant with as many as three hits over the three games, and San Francisco hit .184 as a team. Miami wasn’t much better at .208. Robbie Ray helped the Giants to another shutout win in the second contest, and Hayden Birdsong won the finale.

May 30 (6-0 loss): The Giants were shut out for the eighth time this season. They put at least one runner on base in every inning but one, though only got someone to third base once. Starting pitcher Kyle Harrison was outstanding, striking out 10 and giving up three hits and no runs in six innings. But the Marlins torched the Giants’ bullpen for three runs in the seventh and three runs in the eighth, including two-run doubles by both Agustin Ramirez and Nick Fortes.

May 31 (5-0 win): The Giants rebounded with their third shutout of the season, and their second in the last three starts by Robbie Ray. Ray gave up only three hits and struck out 11 in eight innings to improve to 6-3. All five San Francisco runs were unearned as Miami committed three errors. LaMonte Wade had a two-out, two-run triple following an error that extended the fourth inning. Another error in the eighth was later followed by an RBI single by Tyler Fitzgerald and a two-run single by Sam Huff.

June 1 (8-3 win): The Giants added three more home runs to their season total and had more runs (eight) than hits (six). Casey Schmitt had a two-run blast in the fourth inning that put the Giants ahead to stay at 3-2. Wilmer Flores had a solo shot in the fifth and Luis Matos added a two-run homer in the eighth. Hayden Birdsong pitched a solid six innings to improve to 3-2.
