Wilmer Flores had an RBI double in the first, Christian Koss had an RBI single in the third and an RBI double in the fourth and Willy Adames had an RBI single in the seventh. Boston scored two late runs to break up the shutout.

June 21 (5-4 win): The Giants broke open a 2-2 tie with three runs in the bottom of the eighth. Rafael Devers had an RBI double to put San Francisco ahead, and Dominic Smith slugged a two-run homer. They would need all of those runs. In the top of the ninth, Camilo Doval walked the bases loaded with two outs. An error scored two runs and put the tying run on third. Doval finally struck out the last batter to preserve the win and get his 10th save.
