The San Francisco Giants came out of the All-Star break the same way they went into it, by taking two of three games against an eventual World Series participant. Here, they went on the road to win the series at the Toronto Blue Jays.
At the 100-game mark, the Giants are 54-46, two wins better than their real-life record.
Willy Adames went 6-for-14 (.429) with a team-high six RBI to lead the Giants.

July 18 (5-2 loss): The Giants got out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first when Willy Adames drove in two runs with a two-out single. That was it for San Francisco, however, despite loading the bases with no one out in the second inning. Toronto went ahead in the third on Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s three-run homer, and Alejandro Kirk added a solo shot in the eighth. Justin Verlander suffered another rough start and fell to 4-8.

July 19 (8-1 win): After no one scored in the first five innings, the Giants couldn’t be stopped in the final four. Casey Schmitt had an RBI double in the sixth inning to get it started, and he capped the scoring with a two-run homer in the ninth inning. Other big hits included a solo homer by Luis Matos in the seventh and a two-run double by Heliot Ramos in the eighth. Logan Webb was his usual self and the late runs got him the win, improving his record to 14-4.

Jung Hoo Lee had two of them, one to start the game and the other in the 10th inning, which scored two runs and put the Giants ahead 8-6. Rafael Devers added an RBI single in the 10th. Willy Adames had a two-run triple in the third inning. Joey Lucchesi got his first win in relief and still hasn’t given up a run on 12 2/3 innings of work this season.
