August 11 (1-0 win, 10 inn.): A fantastic pitchers’ duel went nine innings without a run. The game only had nine total hits. All four San Diego hits resulted in a runner reaching scoring position, but none of them came home. The Giants had just as many hits in the first nine innings but advanced fewer runners into scoring position. They got a runner to third base for the first time all game in the bottom of the 10th when ghost runner Drew Gilbert got there on a wild pitch. After the first out, and then a walk, Willy Adames came through with his second walk-off hit in the last three games.
