Sept. 8 (4-1 loss): The Diamondbacks jumped on Logan Webb (18-7) for three runs in the first inning, and they made it 4-0 in the fourth inning. The Giants could only manage a solo homer from Rafael Devers in the sixth inning, his 19th of the season.

Once again, Arizona scored three runs in the first inning, two on a Blaze Alexander home run, to send Robbie Ray (14-8) to the loss. Tim Tawa hit a three-run home run in the eighth.

Sept. 10 (12-5 loss): After Arizona scored twice in the top of the first, the Giants scored three in the bottom of the first to take their first lead of the series. Willy Adames had a two-run triple and Matt Chapman followed with a sacrifice fly. But the lead didn’t last as the Diamondbacks scored eight runs in the second inning. Adrian Del Castro provided a three-run homer for the big blow. The Giants would later get a solo homer from Matt Chapman, his 26th.
