9/22-24/2025: St. Louis at San Francisco

Perhaps suffering a hangover after the big series win against the rival Dodgers, the San Francisco Giants returned home and suffered a three-game sweep at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals in the season’s penultimate series.

The result puts the NL West title in jeopardy. In the final home series against the Colorado Rockies, the Giants must win two of three to win the West outright.

Willy Adames batted .333 (4-for-12) with his 38th home run of the season. The Giants managed only six runs and Christian Koss drove in half of them.

Sept. 24 (4-2 loss): The Cardinals batted around the order in the top of the first. The first three batters had hits, including an RBI double by Ivan Herrera and an RBI single by Alec Burleson. Thomas Saggese later had a two-run double to make it 4-0. That would be all the runs the Cardinals would score, but it would also be all that they would need. Willy Adames had an RBI single in the fourth and a solo homer in the sixth, his 38th of the season.
